The Towing and Recovery Association of America (TRAA) has announced its partnership with the University of Alabama for a research project titled “Identifying Elements for Successful Near-Miss Reporting System.” The objective of this project is to understand the obstacles and opportunities in establishing an effective near-miss incident reporting system for all roadside responders.
TRAA’s commitment to this endeavor involves actively participating in the Project Expert Panel, distributing survey invitations, and facilitating interviews with a selected group of towing companies. Additionally, the project involves a comprehensive review of the Towing Traffic Incident Reporting System (TTIRS) developed by the Statewide Towing Association (STA) of Massachusetts. Funding for this crucial research is provided by the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety.
TRAA is inviting towing professionals to join a focus group in collaboration with the University of Alabama and the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety. The primary aim is to enhance the safety of incident responders and identify the essential components for a successful near-miss reporting system.
To participate in the focus group, TRAA requests potential participants to complete a survey to schedule a convenient one-hour Zoom meeting. As a token of appreciation, participating towers will receive a $50 e-gift card. Please note that participation is limited to the first ten individuals who sign up.
The focus group’s purpose is to gather valuable insights, feedback, and recommendations from those with experience working at incident sites on the roadside. The input from towing professionals will be instrumental in enhancing the safety of incident responders and making well-informed decisions for the future.
